The questions that come up most often, on both sides of a donation.

What do I need before I start?
If the device is in our library, pick it from the list: its facts come from the manufacturer's documents, with the page each was read from. Otherwise the rating plate is enough. It is the stamped metal plate on the back of the machine or beside the power inlet, and it carries the maker, the model, the voltage, the frequency and usually the year.
What if I cannot photograph it?
Paste whatever you have instead — a specification sheet, the label text, or what your biomedical department told you. A model names the device and reads values out of what you gave; a value it cannot point to in your text is dropped. Anything missing stays marked unknown and comes back as a question rather than a guess.
A value on the form is wrong.
Mark the row wrong and it is cleared to unknown. You cannot type a new number in: send a better photo or paste instead, so every value still points at a source.
Am I committing to send it?
No. Posting an offer puts it in front of clinics that can actually run it. When a clinic asks for it you are asked to confirm the stock still exists before anything moves. Saying it has gone is useful: the unit is released at once.
Why was my device rejected?
It was not rejected; it was found not to fit that clinic. The verdict names the check that blocked it, one of 15 written as ordinary code. The same device may be fine somewhere else, and often is.
If you need equipment
Why do you ask about my building?
Because that is what decides whether a machine works. Voltage, frequency, outages, ward temperature, humidity, oxygen, compressed air, distilled water, who can maintain it and the languages your staff read. You enter it once.
Can I upload the list I already keep?
Yes. A spreadsheet or CSV with a column of equipment names, and a quantity column if you keep one. You can also just write out what you need in ordinary sentences; a model lists the kinds and counts, and nothing it says decides whether an item suits you.
What does "Ship with" mean?
The device works at your facility once the listed add-ons travel with it: a transformer, a stabiliser, backup power, a dehumidifier, consumables or spare parts. Each is something that ships in the container and plugs in.
Why does an offer say "Needs info"?
A fact the screen needs is unknown, and an unknown never counts as a pass. The offer lists its questions and sits below the fully known offers. It cannot be requested until the questions are answered.
Why is an offer under "Won't work"?
It did not pass screening for your facility, and the check that blocked it is printed beside it. We leave it visible rather than hiding it, so you can see what would have to change for it to work.
Nothing I asked for is available.
Your request stays on file. Its matches page screens every open offer each time you open it, so stock posted later shows up there.
What happens after I choose?
"Ask this donor" holds a unit and asks the donor to confirm the stock is still there. If the donor says it has gone, the hold is released. Every offer you can ask for comes with a handover packet for your staff.
